According to the new concordance table my score of 1450 on the new SAT would be equivalent to 2080 on the old SAT. The colleges that I am looking at have the 50th percentile at around 2210 for the old SAT, which would be equivalent to around 1520 on the new SAT. Should I try and retake this SAT, or take the ACT?
If you are not a URM and it is not a burden financially, the yes, you might want to retake the test and also try the ACT. Some folks fare better on the ACT than the SAT. A 50 point increase in your score can increase your AI by half that and that is a non trivial difference
Good scores are not sufficient to get you in, but less than stellar scores can definitely hurt your chances, if you don’t have any other hooks.
