Should I retake a 2310 with 800 CR?

Breakdown is 800 CR, 750 W, 760 M. Superscore is 2330 (780 M). Aiming for top schools.

I just don't want to risk my 800 CR.

Your score is great. Please do not fall into the College Confidential trap and freak out about not having a 2400.

I’m afraid it’s a bit too late for that.

Retaking 750+ in all sections isn’t helpful.

Are you serious? You scored a 2310…Just be happy about it. Really no need to retake.

Your breakdown is already at such a high level that there really is almost reason for you to retake.

I would focus on other important things…like college essays and app.
Colleges just might think that you are obsessed with the exam…not a good thing.

However, if you are free and you’ve already done everything essential…and you really really need the perfect score to stand out for a scholarship or something…suuuree…
Otherwise, don’t do it just for fun. Your time would be better spent if you begin studying grad school tests like the MCAT, PCAT…etc This might just help with controlling your nerdy overachieving persona ;)

This is funny because my son had the exact same situation. He scored an 800 CR, 790 W, but a 710 M. On all the practice tests he had around a 760 M, so it really was a let down. But, I will tell you exactly what I told him: FORGET RETAKING IT! They would rather see a one sitting score and that is rediculously HIGH. Be happy with it and yes, all the top schools will consider that a high score as well. I agree, the 800 CR is what will make them take note —don’t retake it :).

LOL, I sincerely hope you’re not feeling a need to retake a 2330 SAT because it is too low.

I can’t believe you’re seriously asking about retaking a 2330. Please tell me this is a joke. Seriously kid, just stop freaking out

There was actually a 233-post thread about improving a 2360. The OP elected to retake, given his belief that he could ameliorate his score. There are some individuals who will not be content with anything other than a 2400.

Hahaha. I like this AnonymousAsian kid. :)

i say be happy with your amazing score :D

this is utterly ridiculous

You know what…Yeah definitely… 2310 is VERY VERY LOW score! No one here has as low a score as you do!!! :P

BTW be happy with your score. It is a good score.

I remember you from last year’s AP Chem/AP Physics AIM chat thing lol. how’s it been?

and, as always, if you think you can do better, retake. If you are capable of getting 800 CR one time it shouldn’t be that hard to do it again since CR usually has a -2 to -3 = 800 curve. Your choice, though.

WongTongTong: It’s been going pretty well. Junior year is a piece of cake… despite the horrible reputation that it has, I have possibly the highest grades I’ve ever had. I don’t really know why people say it’s so bad, since my schedule is pretty rigorous for a high school student, too!

I should probably plan on starting AIM chatrooms for my APs this year… lol

I agree with AnonymousAsian.

It is ludicrous to retake any score that is 2300 and up.

Say hello to community college with a crappy score like that. What were you doing, sleeping during the test???
