Should I retake a 2320?

I apologize if my post sounds excessive or unnecessary but here is my SAT breakdown:

CR: 740
M: 800
W: 780 (75 MC 11 Essay)

The thing that is ironic is that on my practice tests, I never get a perfect math score since I always miss 1 or 2 either due to error or due to not knowing how to solve the last free response math question lol. However on my practice CR, I always miss only 1-3 so I get 800 or 780.

However on my actual SAT, it seems that my scores for CR and M kind of flipped flopped.

This is my second SAT, I took the first one when I was a sophomore before I prepped or anything just to see how I would do and I got a 2140.

Do you think I should retake my SAT again or is anything above 2300 good enough for Ivy Leagues?

I kind of am skeptical about taking the May one because I want to prepare for the AP exams, and in June I am going to take my subject tests.

In addition, there is a high chance I will be head drum major for my 180 member band next year and October happens to be the busiest month due to the fact that every weekend we are going to attend an all day competition.

However, do you think I should just prep for the summer and take it in October, or just be happy with the SAT score I have now?

2320 is very good, if anything just take a subject test

I’m also using May to study for AP exams and June for SAT Subject Tests. So, I will be prepping for the SAT this summer.

be careful. : )
May be score go lower next time, 2320 is good enough! : )

Superscoring, a very common practice, could remedy this.

Unless your dream school does not accept a “superscore.”

I’m just a little bit confused on this topic. I am aware of what superscoring and score choice are, but I am confused on how colleges can choose it.

SuperScoring: You send in all of your scores and colleges just pick your highest score from each section?

Score Choice: Take SAT as many times as possible, and only send in your highest one- sitting score.

However, can colleges have both options and students pick which one they’ll use or can colleges only pick one option?

most colleges do have both superscoring and scorechoice. Some colleges, like the UCs do neither.

A 2320 is good enough for any school.

In fact, I got the same score, and the two girls who beat me out for Stanford scored even LOWER (on the SAT and on everything else) but their essays/recs/extracurriculars were what really got them in.

So don’t worry about the extra 80 points, focus on the rest of your life :]

Superscoring is done by colleges, and Score Choice is done by applicants.

Hmmm, but do you think I should go ahead and take the May SAT to see if I can improve on my Critical Reading?

Since I’m in Texas, I get to take an SAT test for free and in practice tests my CR scores are almost perfect and always are better than my math scores, it’s just in the real one, I kinda flipped flopped it lol

However do you think the time commitment is worth it if I choose to take my May SAT?

2320 is enough. Seriously having a perfect sat scoreisn’t going to do anything. You need a high gpa/ecs to go hpy (and the other ivies).

Nice score by the way. I don’t understand how I got a 12 on my essay b/c I thought it was horrid (Maybe ap english helped after all)

Thank you so much for all of your comments! My last question is would colleges think I am just the stereotypical Asian with high math scores and average CR abilities? (because I got an 800 on M and a 740 on CR) or would the fact that my Writing score is pretty high make up for it?

I’m asking this because I’m interested in UPenn Wharton, MIT, Harvard, or Princeton and interested in pursuing economics/business degrees.

If you’re up for the retake, go for it. CR is the score you want to maximize.

Yeah I think I may do that because in Texas, every junior gets a voucher code to take the SAT for free, so I’m gonna use it for May. :D

Plus on my practice tests, I’ve been getting really high CR scores
