I have taken the ACT 3 official times and one assessment.
Assessment Sophomore year: 24
1st Official w/ studying: 29
2nd Official w/ studying: 27
3rd Official w/o studying: 31
Should I retake the test again to try and get higher, or should I just put more of my time and effort into college apps and SAT Subject Tests? I raised my score from a 24 to 31 by self-studying, and I’m not sure if I can really teach myself anything else… Suggestions?
Btw, I’m applying to Ivy League School and others, I’m Pacific Islander and Mexican, 4.51 GPA, 6.3% rank.
No. You’ve taken it 3 times. If you already took the test while studying, you’ve probably maxed out on positive change. Scholarship isn’t about taking a test over and over again until you happen on a higher score. You have not listed the subscores which are important for many schools. The first two subscores are the most important for those schools. the last two are simply distractors.
OP, C31 is a bit low for Ivy Leagues, so you may want to consider taking the ACT again. You’re already familiar with the test, so you probably don’t have to spend countless hours studying for it.
Furthermore, some schools base their scholarship awards on the ACT scores. C31 is pretty good, but 1-2 extra points might mean a few extra thousand dollars in awards.
