Should I retake Accounting 1?

Long time ago (10 years ago actually) I took my one and only accounting course in college. It was Management 1A at UCLA, the intro class to Accounting.

Now, 10 years later, I'm looking to pursue accounting as a career, and am looking at various masters programs. All of them want at least two intro accounting courses as prereqs.

Seeing as it's been 10 years, should I just take the intro Accounting course (prob at a community college) again? Or is there a way to self-study, and just go directly into Accounting 2?

Thanks!

you can take the clep test “financial accounting” than you can take accounting 2 at a CC.

Masters in accounting programs are designed two ways, One route is for people with out undergrad accounting classes and one is for those with accounting major. Basically they have a set of classes, usually 300 level that you must take before embarking on the Macc. See the schools admissions contact for details. The CPA profession went from a 4 year to a 5 year requirement, so most all the colleges redesigned the Macc recently.
