Should I Retake in Oct. or Apply in Sept.?

Stats:
-UMich GPA: 3.86
-SAT: 1470/2180
-Instate
-Legacy
-Decent-ish EC
-Should have great essays

Should I apply early, as in late August/early September or wait and retake the SAT, on which I'm confident I can do much better, and apply in late October/early November (does Michigan get the scores by web or mail?)?

both. send your application in early. then retake/send your new scores in. You look like ou'll get in fine anyways. Michigan does get the scores by mail.. though it would so much nicer if they did it electronically (they always loose a bunch of papers)

What is your ACT? If you're in-state, then you took the ACT for the Michigan Promise scholarship. Mich looks at ACT too.

You're totally fine. retake them anyways but you're in state so you're good.

It irritates me when test takers who score at the 97th/98th percentile post threads and ask if they should retake the test. No you shouldn't! You got a damn good score (in Junior year!!!) I wish I had when I applied to college (1270/1960). Even if you want to go to HYPS your fine!!! If you do, work on other parts of your apps. Have you taken any SAT IIs? If your sure on Michigan, the relax and enjoy senior year and your summer and don't worry about college admissions.
