Should I retake SAT I/II's for Dartmouth?

Hey guys-
Question: should I retake SAT I's (I've only taken them once)?
My scores: M:670, V:800, W:710 (2160)

Question 2: Is it absolutely necessary that I take more SAT II's?
My scores: Lit: 800, World History:680

Thanks for your help!

SATII, yes...you need 3 of them

Yes, you should retake to raise the math score.

parent just discussed this exact same scenario so I will not reinvent the wheel.

Class of 2010 Testing Requirements:

<a href="http://www.dartmouth.edu/apply/admissions/testing.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.dartmouth.edu/apply/admissions/testing.html</a></p>

All applicants to Dartmouth, including those who apply from foreign countries, are required to take the following:

Either the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I) or the examination of the American College Testing Program (ACT).

Please Note: Students may submit scores from either the old SAT I or the new SAT I (with writing). Similarly, students may submit scores from either the regular ACT (if taken prior to February 2005) or from the ACT with writing (if taken in February 2005 or after).

Any two SAT II Subject Tests

The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is strongly encouraged for foreign students for whom English is not the principal language of instruction and for non-native speakers of English. TOEFL is given at centers throughout the world and must be taken early enough so that the results are reported to Dartmouth by January of the year of intended entrance.
All testing must be completed by January of the senior year in high school. If standardized testing is repeated, the Admissions Committee only considers your highest scores. Information and test registration forms may be obtained from your high school guidance office or by writing to the College Board or the American College Testing Program. Dartmouth's College Board number is 3351, and the ACT code number is 2508.

I think you can raise both the math and writing with studying and maybe a couple cups of coffee during the exam. I think if you can raise the SAT by about 100 pts it will be a very nice boost.

I know I only need 2 SAT IIs, but are those scores good enough?
And would it be wierd If I took the world history again, instead of another subject?

omg 800 CR...

stabs you and runs away with score

ctsurgery...why do you say 3 SAT II's?

Nvm, I didn't read the new requirements....It was 3 SAT II's last year.

i'm not sure how true or accurate this is but the reason i had asked is that Michele A. Hern

You must remember that A is for Admissions first came out in 1997. In the past the testing requirements were the SAT, 3 SAT IIs- writing and any 2 other subject test. In 2005 the college board put out a new SAT which now has the writing component included. Dartmouth has changed its testing requirments to reflect changes in the new SAT

Sybbie, I thought the req in the past were SAT I and any 3 SAT II tests. I never even took the writing test...

That's why I was wondering how much the AI plays in the application process starting this year since the writing is already part of the SAT...that is if it will play any part at all

Looking,

No one can really say how the new SAT is going to be evaluated because it is a new exam to all colleges.

CT,

Did you get a writing placement yet?

Writing placements haven't come - do they get formal notification of foreign language before orientation, or while they are there?

They get formal notification of language, math, writing and science placements when they pick up their packages on move in day.

Whoa a 800 on Lit SATII...must be a good english person!
