Hey everyone - I took my first ACT last December and got a 34. I’m wondering whether retaking and shooting for a 35-36 would be worth the time/money. The schools I’m aiming for are Emory, Tulane, and Duke. Will a higher score make much of a difference?
No it won’t make a difference.
It might be worth it if you might want some merit aid. But on the admissions side, no it won’t really make a difference.

One never knows what makes the difference, but I’ve seen kids with 35 and 36 and straight A’s get rejected from colleges of the admission difficulty that you’re considering.
The most productive thing you can do is round out your list with target and safety schools that you really like. Some people actually find value in schools with some academic diversity.
