I currently have a 740 as my best score, but I’m planning on applying to fairly selective computer science schools so I think having a higher score may be beneficial. My SAT is good but my GPA is not, so I’m also hoping a good subject test score could help compensate for that. Is there any point retaking Math2, or should I just focus on other things?
What is your SAT Math score? And what are your math and science grades?
@JBStillFlying On the SAT I got a 1570 composite with a 780 math subscore.
My math and science scores are decent I think. I got an A in precalc honors my junior year, and I’m taking calc BC now; I got an A in AP Physics 1 second semester junior year and a B first semester, and I’m taking AP chem now
Those are decent marks. Where are you applying? If MIT or SCS at CMU then yeah, retake the M2. If you are applying to schools that don’t require a subject test, not clear you even need one with a 780 Math SAT and high grades in Math at school.
If you are worried about your NON-math and science grades, then take the Lit or one of the history subject tests.
