Should I retake the SAT/ACT before transferring?

Hi

I took the SAT 4 times in high school and ended up with an 1860. I just can’t sit still for that long and I would get bored by the end and just in general standardized tests aren’t my thing. I have a college GPA of 3.9 and I want to transfer to a better school but I’m worried my SAT score will drag me down. I really don’t want to suffer through it all again but I feel like I should. I don’t have the money for a tutor, so I would most likely just wing it in september and see how it goes. I’ve never taken the ACT either so I may do that. My strongest SAT section was a 670 so I was told it may not be a good idea to retake the SAT since they got rid of the writing section (I’m 99% sure it’s gone…). Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

Many colleges don’t consider SAT/ACT scores for exams taken once a student has started college – it is meant as an exam for high school students. Check with the schools you are considering transferring to before you invest any time and energy preparing for the exam.
