Currently a junior, took at the SAT I for the first time in June and scored 2250 - 780W, 730M, 740CR -- I'm aiming for schools like U Chicago, Wesleyan, NYU, as well as maybe Harvard and Brown. I guess 2250 is an okay score, but it sees my CR+M is 1470, which isn't too great. Any advice whether it would be worth the cost and the effort to retake in November 2013?

You can give it another try though not compulsory. It is already good but since you are a junior and still have time then it is worth a shot, maybe you can manage to score more.

thanks! any other thoughts?

Yes…one more thought.

Spend an hour or two doing something totally unproductive. I get the sense that you don’t do that nearly often enough.

These scores are outstanding, and you are headed for an outstanding school. The College Board doesn’t need any more of your money.
