Should I retake the SAT suject tests?

Hi, I really want to get into Columbia SEAS. Here are my scores for the subject tests:
Math II: 800
Physics: 770
Chemistry: 770

Because I'm an Asian, I think that SEAS will expect higher scores. (Is that true?)
However, my situation is really special. My family immigrated to the US in August last year, and I've had a hard time adapting myself to the new environment. Moreover, the overall academic performance of my high school is very low: Our average ACT composite score is 16. (The national average is 21).
So should I retake the subject tests in order to be "good enough" for Fu?

bump it! 10char

your scores are more than acceptable.

Overall, I don’t think you need to retake. But it really depends on what your focus is, what you want to major. Say your application really focuses on physics, then you might want to raise your physics score, because I hear 8% of people who take the test get 800.

The general advice would be to leave your scores alone and focus on other parts of your app.

thanks for ur advices!!!

No need to retake. You need to focus on marketing yourself in the college application.

do not retake.

Columbia University and everyother Ivy league or top 20 school will not differentiate a score of 700 or higher on any subject test besides(MATH 2 Where you should really try to score 750+).

^Well, I wouldn’t go that far. A 700 is definitely seen differently from an 800 or a 750 (though not so much the latter). A 770 though is really no different from an800. And I agree with Epaminondas on the rest.
