Should I retake the SAT?

I took the SAT on November 6th and I earned a 2300. The breakdown of my overall score is as follows: 760 CR, 800 Math, 740 Writing (with an 8 essay). My main concern is the 8 I received for my essay. Does this 8 negatively impact my score enough that I should retake the test? What I mean by that is: If I received a 2300 with a different breakdown of scores BUT an 11 or 12 on my essay, would this 2300 be held in a higher regard?

The universities I am aiming for are schools such as Northwestern, Brown, etc.

I realize that this is a pretty arbitrary question... So any and all advice/criticism is welcome.

A lot of schools don’t consider the Writing portion of the SAT, or don’t give it much weight when they do. To find out whether a particular school looks at the Writing score, Google the school name along with “common data set,” and scroll down to section C8.

Brown uses the writing portion of the SAT in its admissions decisions, but Northwestern checked the box that says “No college policy as of now.”

If it were me, I’d stick with the scores you got.
