Should I retake these scores?

Cr: 720 M: 710 W:680 C:2110
I'm aiming at Penn, Uchicago, and Dartmouth. Would this score be decent for those colleges? I'm also somewhat concerned with taking it too many times, if I retake it'll be the third time, I did pretty poorly on it as a sophomore and only made a 1690 on it.

Are you a rising senior? Retake. 2200+ is ideal for UPenn.

Yes, I’ll be a senior next year

Study as hard as you can and re-take it, if you can afford to re-take it.

i think u should retake it

Those are excellent scores!! Upenns SAT average ranges for 2013 year were R: 660-750 M: 690-780 W:670-770
You fall into those ranges comfortably.

Don’t worry about taking-too-much stuff.
It is still okay to take 3 or even 4 times

Just take a practice test every Saturday. You’ll be fine for the October test.

Don’t feel comfortable with the quartiles posted above by Siriuss. Remember those are skewed down by athletes, legacies, URMs, etc. As an unhooked applicant you should be “comfortable” with your scores towards the 75th percentile mark… That said, scores aren’t the end-all be-all, so if you don’t feel you can do much better I wouldn’t recommend retaking it.

I agree with @Jazzed; to be comfortable, an applicant’s scores should be closer to the 75th percentile than to the 25th percentile. Analyze the profiles for accepted & denied student at your coveted school by visiting the website listed & following the steps below, then make a decision accordingly.

After clicking on the desired school, click on ‘GPA, SAT, and ACT for xxx(Desired School)’ to view the graph for admitted & denied students based on their GPAs & SAT scores. Good luck.

A 2110 and you want to retake? I wish I could get my score above a 1300
