Hi there(: I have a bit of a dilemma I could use some advice on.
I took the SAT at the beginning of November and requested that my scores be sent to 2 schools I am applying to. These schools have deadlines on November 30th which is why I sent my scores prior to seeing how I did. This was my first time taking the SAT and my highest practice test score was 1600, but I’m fairly sure my actual score will be lower than that.
I took the ACT last spring and my composite score was 23 which I understand is the equivalent to a 1590 SAT score. I have a feeling my ACT scores are better than what my SAT scores will be, but I’ve already sent my scores and can’t cancel them. I was wondering if I should send my ACT scores along with my SAT scores or if I should just stick with my SAT scores even though I don’t know how I did yet. The schools will see my SAT scores either way, but do you think it would help my chances if I send my ACT scores as well or no?
Since the Collegeboard seems to be having trouble lately getting SAT scores sent out in any sort of timely manner, I would definitely send the ACT scores.
CSU’s will superscore if you have more than one sitting of each test. Cal Poly SLO? will also superscore across the SAT and ACT, so you are better having both scores sent.
I am not sure about your stats, but based on your posted test scores, both schools look like Reach schools. Do you have any other CSU’s on your list?
Yes they’re definitely reach schools. They were the only CSUs with the major I’m interested in (Early Childhood Education and Teaching) but I’m also applying to a few schools in Colorado where I’m from which I have a better chance with. I’m going to send my ACT scores though just to be safe!
