I just got back my SAT subject tests and I’m not sure what I should send. I took Chemistry and Math II. The chemistry I got a 510 on yikes yikes and I’m for sure not sending that anywhere, but the Math II I got a 710 on which is what is confusing me. I took this on the other side of the country and was a little bit flustered after I brought the wrong admissions ticket, but with 1 testing day I doubt colleges would know if I had a bad day or not. I have looked into other discussion of this and nobody seems to give a good answer. All I hear is well I got a 780 and a 800 on mine so those are bad scores and blah blah etc. I want to know relative to the rest of my application. I got a 770 on the regular SAT Math and have a decent GPA and strong extra curriculars. How does a 710 on Math II compare to a 770 on the regular etc. Should I send that score to schools that don’t require all scores?
Thanks in advance
I don’t think you can compare the two, since they don’t test you on the same thing.
What colleges are you applying to? A 710 in Math II is in the 50%. https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/pdf/sat-subject-tests-percentile-ranks-2015.pdf
I applied to Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSB, USC, UW, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Clemson. I’m more wondering if it will enhance or hurt my application as a whole. Regardless of percentages and what level of school I applied to I would still like to only send it if it makes me look more appealing than I did before. @testingearly @carrots0066
In terms of admission, Stanford, like for anyone else, is a reach. I think your classes and grades matter much more than SAT for the UCs. IMO, I wouldn’t send Math 2
Naw, don’t send
