Should I sent in my AP scores?

I did 2 AP exams:
5 in Calc AB and
4 in Psych

I checked Penn's website and I won't be awarded credit for these AP's.

However, I'm a Canadian student and my school offers no AP (it starts next year, when I'm off to uni). I'm almost certain that I'm the only one out of the graduating class of around 375 to do AP exams. I am also pretty sure my guidance counselor told me that the school profile indicates that we are not an AP school for this school year. Would sending the score to Penn show that I'm ambitious and work hard in that I self-studied for these two exams?

Sending the scores will probably not do anything. You can maybe mention them on your app somewhere and say that you self-studied, but the scores themselves aren’t really anything to showcase.

Take Calculus BC next year.

You’re selling yourself in your college application. I think it’s potentially a big plus to send your scores and then mention somewhere in our app “took/scored 4 and 5 on two AP tests (scores sent), even though my school offers no AP classes”.

It shows initiative and love of learning IMO.

I agree with the advice to self report these scores and explain that you self-studied with no classes. But, I don’t agree that sending the official score reports is necessary. Self reporting APs is generally sufficient for the application process.

Thanks guys for the advice :)

I ended up sending the scores anyway.

You should send the score!!! :)
