should I stay an extra year at my community college?

I’m currently taking 4 very difficult classes and I’m thinking of dropping one in order to take some weight off my shoulders. Along with this, I have to take a 5 week chemistry course in the winter and 5 courses next spring if I want to transfer next year. If I decide to stay an extra year, I will be able to have a lot of extra time to finish my courses and be more likely to keep my good GPA. I see that there’s a lot of benefits in staying an extra year but my ego wants me to transfer asap. Opinions on this?

It depends…what classes are you taking? What year are you? What do you want to major in?
I would say that it is very important to get a good GPA at your CC to maximize your opportunities for transferring.
But you would likely take 5 3 credit courses if you are a full time student at a 4 year university.
Are these lab classes?

Could you stay an extra semester and apply to transfer for the spring?

Or take a class or two over the summer?

I’ve Only been in college for a year so I’d be in school for a total of three years if I waited. I’m taking honors economics online, honors theater, biology and English 102 at the moment. Next spring I would be in any lab classes.

If I do that means I have to still wait another year to transfer

I would be transferring next spring so I would have to wait till 2019
