Stay an extra year?

So I am going to my local community college right now. I have had up to a 4.0 until I took my statistics class. I am LUCKY if I pass with a C right now. Anyways, I estimated by gpa if I pass statistics this semester and it will be about a 3.53. This is really low for me. I also would have to complete 34 more UC transferable units by the time I transfer. I am working summer and winter breaks so I would have to do 17 units a semester.

Even though it is possible to complete this, I was wondering if it would make sense to stay an extra year, boost my GPA, have some time to take classes, and maybe get an AA to at least get me out of serving tables and into somewhat better job. I also have the option to transfer into the CSU system for only 12 units a semester. Or should I just stick it out take 17 a semester and transfer fall of 2014. Any suggestions?

If any of you were wondering my major is intended to be under the Communication branch of the UC or CSU system with a minor regarding either business or leadership (like UC Davis). I also hope to squeeze in a few internships along the way.

If you have 2 semesters left before you transfer, you can definitely bring that GPA up to a more competitive level.

hmmm I dont know if your JC does this but mines does. lets say you are not content with your grade. You can get a D then retake the course and try again and get an A and that grade will make up the D.
