Should I stay on the waitlist or not?

I'm facing a real dilemma. On one hand I have a bird in the hand(Duke) and I should immediately pull out of the waitlist. On the other hand, if Swarthmore takes me off the waitlist and if it offers me a ton of money, I might go there for financial reasons. At this point I'm only somewhat interested in being a swattie and I would feel guilty if I took somebody else's spot on the waitlist... what should I do?

If you are only "somewhat interested" if they give you a ton of money, you would probably make a lousy Swattie. If that's the case, I'd recommend Duke. The two are really polar extremes in a lot of ways.

Very few people go to Swarthmore who are only "somewhat interested". It's a pretty distinctive place that people either really like or really don't like.

"Somewhat interested" would probably only make sense if you haven't spent any time there. Then, it might be worth going for overnight. Otherwise, I'd send the deposit to Duke and call it a day.

thanks for the info..... they are polar opposites but then again, they appeal to my polar opposite character :D

I havent visited so I dont know what its like.

ok, I'll get off the waitlist to make room for all those who are really excited about going there.

yea i'm not staying on either even though my parents want me to...
