I sent in my card a week earlier than i sent in my letter/teacher recommendation/english essay combo. Therefore, they were in separate packages. Do you think that Duke will only look at the card and think that i've lost interest? i really don't want it to look that way since Duke is my top choice!!

Do you think i should call? i'm getting worried, cuz people are getting off the waitlist and i haven't heard anything yet... :(

i called the admissions office multiple times, but they keep saying that my region's officer is currently out of town for the next week!!! i got her e-mail and have been exchanging messages, but she says she can not do anything until she gets back into office!! what should i do??? people are getting off the waitlist... and i'm still kinda stuck in this position.

the person at the front desk said that the information has to go through the region's officer before the Duke Committee can review it. also, does the region's officer decide whether or not you get into Duke?

I think the process of admitting off the waitlist takes place until the admissions office has filled the designated number of open spots. The length of time depends on how fast admitted people get back to Duke and how many people reject their offers.

PS: yes I am a student at Duke (Pratt SoE Class of 2010)

i got off the waitlist last year on May 16th. If I remember correctly, people were being taken off until mid-to-late June last year. But last year, we had a very large amount taken off the waitlist so keep that in mind....

I sent in a letter expressing my interest in the school (I mailed it separately from the "I'm still interested in the waitlist" form).

Being in your particular situation, I really wish you the best of luck. I hope they detect your enthusiasm and you end up with positive results.
