Should I still request an interview if I attended Voices?

Hey everyone,

I attended the voices fly-in at tufts, where they did a quick group interview right before the program ended. Should I still request an alumni interview, or would it not make much of a difference? (I think I did ok in the group interview but I didn’t get to talk as much as I wanted. Tufts is my first choice and I want to demonstrate as much interest as possible, but I don’t want to ruin my chances if I somehow mess up the alumni interview, you feel?) Thanks!

As an alumni interviewer my perception is that the alumni interview is something that is much more likely to help your application (or be neutral) than to harm it. If you feel that you can confidently articulate what it is you like about Tufts in a low-key conversation with an alum then I would encourage you to go for it, but don’t fret too much either way.
