I’m in a bit of a weird situation. I’m applying to engineering. My ACT composite is a 34, but my math is a 31. Both of my English scores are 35. However, on my SAT, my composite is a 1490, and my math is a 780. Should I submit both of them or just one?
if you don’t have time to retake and get a higher score (not saying those scores aren’t high but it depends on what you think is high) you should submit. Those scores are pretty good.
My daughter was in a similar situation. She was applying to Engineering programs and her math ACT was lower than her other scores. She didn’t want to re-take the ACT because she got a 35 and didn’t want to risk her overall score dropping (and she was burned out from testing). She also took the SAT and scored higher on math. So, she chose to submit both scores. She also submitted her AP scores, which were good in math and her grades in her math classes were good. She did not take the SAT subject tests, though a good score in the math subject test might have been helpful. Anyway, it all worked out and she got into some great schools.
