Should I Submit my ACT Writing to Johns Hopkins?

Hello. Sorry If I post this in the wrong place. I just joined the website.

I just submitted my Common App Early Decision to JHU. I also submitted my lastest ACT scores:

Overall: 34
English: 35
Math: 29
Reading: 36
Science: 35

My question is: Should I submit the other time I took the ACT? That test I took Writing as well and my scores look like this:

Overall: 32
English: 35
Math: 27
Reading: 35
Science 34
Writing (!!!): 21

As you can see, my writing score is dismal, even though I’m E.I.C of my school’s literary magazine -_-

Is JHU ACT Writing optional (wink wink) or just optional? And should I submit it?

Hey! Uhm ok so I might not be the best to answer this but I did go onto an overnight visit to the university. They said that they did not require at all to submit an ACT writing or SAT writing. Hopefully this answers your questions.

I am also applying as a senior! Best of wishes

Yes thank you! Good luck to you!

Even if it’s not required and the average ACT is 32, the average SAT for 2020 ranged from 1440-1560, so you probably should aim for above a 32(your 34 is fine.)
You should definitely still submit writing, as even though it’s not required, it is strongly recommended that you send it.
