Should I submit my SAT chemistry subject score?

I got a 740 on the sat subject for chem and a 5 on the ap exam. Since my major is chem, should i just omit my low-ish sat subject and only submit my 5? Or should i retake the sat subject? I didnt study last time because I got overconfident from my 5. will my 740 hurt my chances at UCLA or Vanderbilt? Especially considering my major…

If you don’t have any other 2 subject tests, submit your chem score. That is a fine score (the curve on chem is horrible anyway). Subject tests will rarely hurt your chances, only boost them.

Send the 740, it is a good score

The score is not great but not bad either. I dont think it matters that much, relative to your GPA and test scores and essays. Did you take a Math 2 test yet? I think admissions uses the subject scores as a tiebreaker in case you are a borderline candidate.

FWIW my kid had a 780 on Chem and 800 on Math 2 and got rejected to both Vandy and UCLA (applying for CS in both places).

@onceand4all @Mwfan1921 thanks for the help! I think I’ll submit it

@ProfessorPlum168 yep I have math 2 but the scores arent released yet. Ty for the help!!
