Should i submit poor SAT subject test scores to Georgetown?

OK so Georgetown’s sat subject test policy is as follows:

SAT Subject Tests - It is strongly recommended that all candidates, whether they have taken the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT, submit three SAT Subject Tests scores. The scores from writing portion on the SAT Reasoning Test and the optional writing portion of the ACT will not be used in place of a Subject Test.

But my subject test scores are: 680 Literature
670 US History
570 Spanish

Should I bother submitting these? Would they detract from the rest of my app?

Will the AP Scores that I’m submitting (APUSH-5, APUSGov(Self Study)-5, APEuroHistory-4) stand in lieu of a lack of subject tests?

Georgetown requires that you submit all scores, so you need to submit your subject tests.

Yes, you need to submit all scores. Georgetown is one of the few that requires them all.

I think what’s confusing is that there are at least three people on different Georgetown boards who didn’t send subject scores and were accepted early action. ?

@kibbles That isn’t the issue. Unlike most other schools, Georgetown requires scores for all test sittings to be submitted, including scores for subject tests. Accordingly, because the scores exist, the applicant must submit them, period. Whether an applicant might be admitted without having taken subject tests is a different question altogether.

@evergreen5 There are at least two people on CC who have taken but not submitted and were accepted. Could be rumor and innuendo but that’s what I am referencing as well.

@kibbles Failure to comply with Georgetown’s application rules is not ethical behavior and should not be condoned.

??? I’m not “condoning” anything. I’m pointing out that it isn’t as clear cut as some say. I just worry that info is passed along as gospel on these boards sometimes and it would be better to have people contact admissions directly rather than invite speculation as fact.

@kibbles Georgetown’s website, the authoritative gospel in this situation, is crystal clear on the requirement to send all scores: “Georgetown requires that you submit scores from all test sittings of the SAT, ACT, and SAT Subject Tests.” See https://uadmissions.georgetown.edu/firstyear/preparation. While I would agree that calling admissions to clarify vague or ambiguous language is a good approach, there is nothing whatsoever that is unclear about Georgetown’s rule as set forth on its website. The existence of applicants accepted without following the rule does not make the rule gray or unclear.

Lol. I see I touched a nerve. And yet, despite the “crystal-clearness” you speak of, some were apparently accepted (in past years as well) without submitting all test scores. I stand by my original point: When in doubt, contact admissions ?

Yep. Yet many who don’t are admitted. When in doubt, contact admissions. ?. @skieurope : Waiting for an answer on your data for your assertion that kids are “rescinded” for not submitting subject test scores (on another thread; same topic).

MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Let’s move on from debating whether Georgetown’s crystal clear policy is open to interpretation.

(A) It’s not and
(B) Per ToS, this is not a debate society.

OP must have made his decision by now. If not, submit, hope for the best, and have happy safeties. In this case, we don’t know the major, nor why OP chose one in Spanish, how that relates to the major. (Or how the ECs relate to the posisble major.) Most kids will likely submit one math.

The “out” about subject tests is for early applicants. Or extenuating circumstances. (This is also in the link ski just provided.) The key point is: they recommend 3 tests, but require all scores to be reported. OPdid take three. The rest, about other kids, is speculation.
