Should I submit this SAT score?

I'm not sure if I should submit a 710 US History score to schools like HYP/Dartmouth/Hopkins/Duke/Rice/etc. I have a 2360 SAT and a 36 ACT, along with 800 Math II and 790 Chemistry. Is a 710 worth sending, or will it hurt rather than help?

I don’t think it will hurt.

i actually sent a 610 us history to harvard, by accident. forgot it was there. i have a whole bunch of higher ones, so hopefully they will overlook it right?

Hmm. But in a sea of applications with 800s on a gajillion subject tests, wouldn’t a 710 stand out? But on the other hand, would it be better to submit it anyway since it shows diversity in subject tests?

batfan: Not to worry, test scores are only one part of your application – and with your scores, you are definitely in contention. At your level, much will depend on other subjective criteria: teacher recommendations, guidance counselor’s Secondary School Report, essays and extracurriculars.

Imo, if a 710 is your highest SAT II, that’s a problem. If you have a couple higher SAT IIs, though, additional scores say “oh look I have a pretty good handle on this additional subject also, even if not quite as good a handle as I did on my main couple.”
