I'm not sure if I should submit a 710 US History score to schools like HYP/Dartmouth/Hopkins/Duke/Rice/etc. I have a 2360 SAT and a 36 ACT, along with 800 Math II and 790 Chemistry. Is a 710 worth sending, or will it hurt rather than help?

Can’t hurt, and you don’t have to pay extra.

Depends on what they require and what you plan one majoring in. Without more info, it seems safer to leave it out. 710 is not a scandalous score at all, but its not consistent with your other scores. I doubt it will hurt you though. It shows you made the effort and its a solid score in an area your other scores don’t cover, so it show breadth.

I’m leaning towards a science major - biology or chemistry, and science research is where most of my awards during high school are in. That said, I’m pretty interested in history as well…so yeah. Does anyone else have ideas? Thanks so much for your feedback, BigIs and popoagie.

I’d send it; considering the fact that you have an 800 and a 790, a 710 in a non major area is pretty nice to look more balanced and well rounded.
