should I take 13 or 17 credits first semester freshman year?

i'm in a learning community and we are required to take a UC course that is only 1 credit. most of my friends have 4 classes (14-16 credits), but I have 4 classes at just 13 credits. seems a little low to me. on the other hand, if i add another class that would bump it up to 17 credits.. which seems sort of high to start off.

granted, i know none of my classes will be extremely difficult, but i'm still not sure if i should add a class. i get stressed out/overwhelmed pretty easily and i know i need to adjust because i'll be facing some tough situations in college ha

the classes i'm currently enrolled in (and will not be dropping) are English 125, French, UC course and Polsci 101

i'm waitlisted for a psych lecture (with no discussion), an anthro class and a philosophy class

and i'm fairly low on each waitlist so I expect to get into at least 1. oh and i plan on majoring in international relations btw.

so based on the courses that i plan on taking, would you recommend 4 or 5 classes first semester freshman year?

Your UC course isn’t a real class, so I think you’ll be fine adding another one.

I’ve heard psych (with schreier) and anthro are pretty easy classes so I don’t think 17 credits should be a problem for you. Also because English and Polsci are relatively easy.

And see you in Polsci 101 ;)
