Hey guys!
I’m having some trouble picking my classes for next semester and was hoping to get your input on it! I’m a Computer science major and currently a freshman, I’m taking 3 CS related courses, but 2/3 do not seem that tough. My fourth class is required by the school and its just an intro to statistics class, which from what I heard can be pretty tough. The class I really wanna take is an acting class, which is considered “experimental” because the school has never done it before nor is it guaranteed next year. Should I take it?
CS courses with programming and performing arts courses may require a considerable time commitment, even if they are not that hard.
You could sign up for all 20 credits, but be prepared to drop a course before the drop deadline if it is too much time commitment.
What courses? I’m a sophomore math and CS double major with one official minor and a second unofficial minor and I am consistently at ~23 credits (we use units instead so it doesn’t convert cleanly), although I only have ~18 units of academic courses a semester (my minor is music, so I have lessons and ensembles). It hasn’t been that bad.
That said, taking 3 CS courses and a math course at the same time is very difficult. Is there a way you can put off one of the CS courses for another semester?
Looks like 1 Richmond unit is equivalent to 3.5 semester hour credit units at schools that use that system.
