Should I take a gap year or should I apply as a tranfer student ?

Hi everyone !
I 've just finished high school in my country. I have been admitted to Trinity University with a scholarship of $25,000 annually. However, I've been rejected the visa twice ( must be because of my family's financial situation) so I can't make it to Trinity University this fall. I also passed the national entrance exam to my country's university.
Now I really don't know what to do. I planned to defer Trinity offer to spring semester, but I believe that our family would be in debt when I become a junior. I want to apply again into a good school with generous financial aid, so should I take a gap year or should I apply as a tranfer ? And can you guys please suggest some colleges for me ? Is it too late to apply this year as a freshman ?
I'm currently into Stanford ^ ^ but I understand that they won't let student who enter another university to apply as a freshman. I haven't attend any classes in my country's university, but soon I'll have to ( my parents would sure to be furious if I don't).
please help me.
And here are some of my stats:
Toefl : 101
Sat: 2140.
some other unsignificant prizes and activities.
Can you guys please give me some advice ?
Thank you.
