Hello. School is stating next week, so we’re finalizing our schedules.
At the moment, my signed up for 4 AP classes, and am wondering if I should drop one class for another AP?
I am taking:
AP US History
AP English III
AP Biology
AP Statistics
Physics PAP
Pre-Calculus PAP
Advanced Journalism: Yearbook
I was wondering if I should drop yearbook and take AP Psychology instead.
Taking Psych would give me more APs and possibly a GPA boost, but yearbook is an extracurricular activity, where we work a lot but also I can relax. I’m so confused, which would look better for colleges? I understand colleges look for stuff other than hard classes. Yearbook would give me that. But is it worth it?
You should take AP Psych. First of all AP Psych isn’t a hard class. Second, I don’t think you could count yearbook as an EC if it is a class you are taking for a grade.
oh really? You can’t count it as EC? Even though it’s a class taken for a grade, we do a lot of work outside of class. I always thought it wa similar to debate. It’s a class, but it’s seen as a club. They compete a lot. (I did debate for freshman and sophomore year.)
if I were just an ordinary member of the staff, would it look bad? I doubt I’d get an editorial position because there were people in yearbook since freshman year, so they’ll most likely get the spots.
