I’m currently a junior, taking regular calculus, because I want to learn calculus, but I need to go at a slower pace in order to fully understand it. I’m strongly considering a major in either environmental science, environmental engineering, or aerospace engineering. Next year, should I take AP Calculus AB or AP Statistics? I feel that AP Calculus might be better if I’m considering engineering, but I’m worried that it might just be too repetitive after already taking a year of regular calculus. In that case, I would take AP Statistics, to learn more about math overall.
Is AP Calculus BC available?
@halyconheather Yes, AP Calculus BC is available, but I don’t think I can do it without taking AB first
Normally you can take AP Calculus BC right after pre-calculus, unless your high school specifically does it differently.
@halyconheather At my school, you have to take AB before BC.
Taking ab will reinforce what you already know, and will go faster and more in depth on each topic. It’ll give you a stinger background if you want to go into STEM fields.
