Should I take AP chemistry and a question about AP Biology?

So at my school AP chemistry and AP bio are known to be very tough. I plan on pursuing medical in the future and I wanted to know whether taking AP Chemistry my senior year will be of help to me.

Also, I want to take AP Biology but yhe teacher says she does not recommend it unless you take this class called Genetics, Bacteriology, biotechnology, and embryology (one class) or AP Chemistry beforehand. Its notoriously hard and the getting an 84+ means you have an A as well.

I want to take AP Bio but im afraid it will mess up my GPA. I am a pretty good student and this year as of now I have all As. I got a an A and a B+ in chem 1 and a B and a B- in BIo but that was because I was a bad student with terrible work ethics freshman year. Ive improved a lot now however.

So do you guys think AP chemistry is worth taking as a senior and if AP Biology needs any prerequisites to be successful.

bump

I can only speak about my school/experiences, but for us our only prerequisite was to have taken honors biology freshman/sophomore year, so I think a prior year of life science would be beneficial. Ap Chem is the hardest AP in my opinion, so be prepared to commit a lot of time. However, I think you should definitely take at least one of them if you are pursuing a medical profession. Both courses will put you ahead of your peers when you have to take entry level Biology and Chemistry in college, which would boost your GPA and help with med school.
