So I wonder if I already finished an IB class that also available in AP, should I also take the AP test ? Is it worth the $ and does it make me stand out more ? For example, my school make me takes IB psychology SL as an IB elective so should I also take the AP psych ?

Taking the AP when you’ve already taken IB probably won’t help your admission chances much. It just seems a bit redundant. The only situation where it might be worth it is if you’re interested in a school that gives class credit for AP scores and not IB, but many schools that accept AP credit will accept IB as well.

Since many colleges give credit for HL IB classes, but not SL, it might be worth your while to take AP tests for SL classes. I wouldn’t do it to stand out though. I’d only do it if you want the possibility of being awarded college credit.

Do the AP standards for testing meet the IB? If it does, you could consider taking it.

I would consider taking the exams, mainly because some colleges favor AP exams over IB for giving you credit.
