Should I take AP physics?

I can't believe it's already time to choose courses for senior year! I plan on taking AP psych, AP french language, AB calculus, AP literature and either honors physics or AP physics.
I've taken biology and chemistry AP and got A-'s/B+'s in both but I hear physics is much harder. I do plan on majoring in science (pre med) so I'm leaning towards taking it, but I don't want to do poorly senior year. Any input?

Pre med will most likely require college-level physics [Below Scientist/Engineer-level physics]

I would recommend you do take AP Physics. The only reason you’d do poorly is if you let senioritis catch up to you. AP Psych shouldn’t be too much effort and neither should AP French if you know the language well. I don’t think you should worry about doing poorly. Honors to AP isn’t that big of a jump.

If you want to do pre-med, do colleges want you to take AP Physics or can take it in your freshman year of college?

^I’m not sure about that. My main concern is that every selective school wants to see the most rigorous schedule offered, that’s mainly why i’ll probably take it :/

Senior year 1st semester grades matter the second least (after Freshman year). It’s important to show that you’re still challenging yourself senior year so I would consider taking it (especially given the fact that the grade in it is not as important as it would be if it was a junior year course).

^Wrong. They matter the most with the exception of junior year.

Junior Year > Senior Year (1st Semester) > Sophomore Year > Freshman Year

I’ll defend myself. When top colleges look at your transcript at first, they look at Freshman-Junior year (because nothing from Senior year can be sent yet). When creating a student’s academic profile, they use at least Sophomore and Junior year, if not Freshmen year also, and they have their deliberations before senior year grades even come in for many applicants (hence some likely letters before a midyear report is even sent). Senior grades are more of a check to make sure you’re not slacking off. While a decrease in academic preformance is not expected, they are a little more tolerant of maybe one B (given that you’ve been getting all As before). It’s more important to show that you’re taking the most rigorous courses offered. But continuing, a good mid-year report will rarely save you (maybe if you’re on the edge showing an upward trend) if you have a poor pre-senior transcript; however, a slightly worse senior transcript is not going to eliminate you if you have a good pre-senior transcript.

AP Physics is very I would recommend physics honors

Senior grades are the latest information that they have about you. Its the year when its possible to take the most AP’s.

This is correct:

Junior Year > Senior Year (1st Semester) > Sophomore Year > Freshman Year

If you want to study engineering or any math/science-related major, go for AP Physics. AP will show colleges how much of a challenge you can take in course work. Honors Physics is good and prepares you for college but doesn’t have as much of an impact.
