I am a freshman currently taking algebra 2 honors. The reccomended class for me next year would be Precalc H, but I was thinking about taking AP Statistics instead. Normally sophmores only take one AP class, but I’m also involved in a lot of extra curriculars (boxing, Mock Trial, band, choir, and Academic Decathalon). If I take precalc this year, junior year I will have four APs. I’m not sure if I would be able to handle that along with my extracurriculars without my grades suffering. I could take AP stats next year, then pre-calc h my junior year, which would have a lighter workload. This would put me on par with my grade, versus before where I was a grade ahead. My question is, would this be seen as bad in the eyes of colleges? And mathematically speaking, would I struggle too much in AP Statistics as a sophomore, or struggle going to precalc after it? And is there anything I need to complete Stats that I would have learned in pre-calc? Thank you!!!
