Should I take Chinese next year?

So I'm taking Chinese III right now and I'm a junior. I really have started to dislike it and see no practical need for it. I plan on majoring in Physics and I know there's no way I'll ever learn the language (to the point where I can converse with a person in Chinese). Will it hurt my chances at getting into good colleges if I decide to drop it?

It doesn’t hurt to have the class and it shows dedication towards something. However, if you honestly think that it’s going to destroy your grades, don’t take it. Do something else in its place. I would, however, take the class anyways. Chinese is one of the most progressive languages in the past one or two decades.

It’s not that I’m worried it’s going to kill my grades, I just don’t like it and see no where in my future I would ever use.

If you really dislike it, drop it. But, as stated earlier, I would take something in its place.

You never know when you’ll need Chinese…
If you don’t like it, don’t take it. Now you can take another AP - fun times!
