Should I take English 12 Honors online? Help

Hello, my high school is not having English 12 Honors this year and No AP. They are having a dual credit class with a community college but I dont think it is worth it for me. Do you think English online would be difficult?
The classes I would have if I take it online are:

AP Government & Politics
AP Psychology
Algebra 2
Web Design Advanced Studies ( 2 periods mandatory class)
Ap Study lab Or Food & Nutrition
School related Work experience ( 2 periods)
Than at home I would do English 12 Honors

What do you guys think?

I think you would be better off with community college course. Even in the online has a Skype or equivalent capacity, it cannot match an in-person seminar, which is how Honors & AP need to be taught. Yes, you can do the reading and write some papers, but I’m not sure you would gain the mastery of the curriculum. Of course, this depends on what the content of that dual credits course is, so your question is hard to give a definitive answer to.

I took the placement test for the community college course and I was off 4 points only. The teacher said I could do English 12 Honors online since right now I am taking AP English language. Taking regular English would look very bad for college admissions and it would look like I am just lazy.

I only have until tomorrow to let the counselor know what I want to do and I am very confused.

It wasn’t clear from your initial post that you were currently taking AP English. Do you really need another year of English? Nothing else challenging to take at school? I might look for some challenging seminars but it’s late. Since you have your teacher’s backing to take Honors English on line, go for it. You’ll have a reasonably rigorous schedule, and I don’t think any schools will view you as slacking off. Best, ATS

Do you think they would view me as slacking off if I took just regular english 12? Also the only math I will get up to is Algebra 2. Do you think it will look really bad if I didnt go pre-calc or can I just take that in college?

If you’re a rising senior, Algebra 2 is about all you can do. I would not try to take it and pre-calc at the same time, even if you could. I think you would be safe taking regular English if that is all your school is offering, but taking honors on line in your own time shows an effort to challenge yourself more.

Does it look bad for college admissions if I only took up to Algebra 2 though? I plan on heading to the business field. Would I have to take remedial courses or am I on track?

I don’t know the answer to that question, but I really doubt that business cares about pre-calc. Honestly, it might not hurt to leave yourself some easier courses to take in college rather than having to take calculus. D managed to graduate from an Ivy without taking a single math class (there were other ways to satisfy the relevant core requirement), and it has never been an issue.

Thank you !
