Should I take Honors Pre Calc next year?

Hi, so next year, I will take AP Music Theory, Honors Chem, Honors English, and Honors history. I am currently a B+ student, but I am improving a lot (last year I was a B/B- student in regular classes). Now my teacher says that honors pre-calc is a HUGE jump from this years honors class. I have received a B last quarter, and he says if I have B’s this year, I will have C’s next year. Though this quarter, I am doing much better. Right now I have an 83, but I have aced many quizzes, (a test), and hw quizzes which should bring me up at least an 88, maybe a 90. So I was wondering, what do you think? I want to take AP Calc AB in the future but I don’t want to fail junior year in the process lol. Thanks!

How long can you go until you drop the class without a Withdrawal? I’d say try it out. I mean, AP Calc and Pre-Calc have very little in common, but I feel if you want to get in AP Calc, you should test out a challenging course beforehand.

Precalc is really a review of math up to that point. Why not take it and get a tutor if you struggle. What is the alternative? Seems absurd to suggest that students getting a B now will get a C next year.

As @AMan236 said, you should sign up for H Precalc, if you find that you cannot handle the workload then you should switch into regular precalc. (But first you need to make sure that it is possible to drop out of classes after the school year starts.)

Listen to your current teacher. He knows you, your abilities and work ethic and strengths and weaknesses, as well as the demands of that particular course, far better than strangers online.
