Should I take Micro next semester?

Alright, so I'm a senior in high school, and I signed up to take the full AP Economics course (Macro + Micro) this year. We're wrapping up macro in the next week. The thing is, I absolutely SUCK at Macro. I don't know why, my teacher is awesome and 90% of the class gets As easily, but for some reason it doesn't stick with me. More than that though, I'm really awful, I'm struggling for a C.

But the thing is, I have learned a lot about the economy that I see myself applying to every day life. I'm much more of a detail oriented person (opposed to seeing the big picture), so people have told me Micro will be easier for me because of that (I don't know, that seems a bit of a stretch to me).

How different is Micro from Macro? Can people be good at one and bad at the other, or are they similar ways of thinking and conceptualizing?

Addtl details: I’ve already been accepted to the college I plan on attending, and I have friends who have dropped Micro before and this college didn’t mind.

Honestly, as a senior in high school (last year, I pretend to be so ancient), I couldn’t understand macro for my life! I actually found micro much, much easier! My Econ teacher said most people are either micro people or macro people. But then again, I was in on level, not AP, so I understand my comment would be taken with a grain of salt. I’m just saying they don’t really go hand in hand in my mind. They’re two totally different matters. Look into it over break. If you have any friends who took this class before you, ask for their advice and ask them to run you through some basic notes to see whether or not you’re up to it. Congrats on getting into the school you wanted! I just know it’s always nice to go in with a bit of AP credit :)

Yes, from what I’ve heard micro is considerably easier. I would stick with it for the rest of the year. Hey, you might learn something interesting.
