<p>Hi, is there really any difference in the class between first and second semester? Is it hard to do well in Orgo lab 2510? Does it depend a lot on the professor and your TA? Either way, I will be taking Orgo and Orgo lab at the same time, it's just a matter of whether that's first or second semester. If I take it 2nd semester, I will already be semi-familiar with orgo, because I'll have taken orgo 1st semester already. </p>

<p>Either is fine but second might be easier because you’ll understand slightly more. On the other hand, the things you learn in 2510 will also help you in the second semester of ochem. In the end though all chemistry labs are fundamentally just about following directions well and writing reports that will cater to what your TA wants. Nothing more really.</p>

<p>I don’t think it really makes a difference whether you take it first or second semester. keep in mind that nearly everyone else taking it first semester is also going to be taking their first semester of orgo lecture, and it’s definitely a class on a curve, so you won’t be at any disadvantage. I took it first semester and then went on to take the second semester of lecture, and I honestly don’t think it would have made any difference for me if I had taken it later.</p>
