I am currently a junior who is interested in going into medicine or biological sciences. In my school, PLTW courses are weighted and HBS is the second in the series. Those who graduate with all 4 get special recognition and a stole in graduation. (My school is a 4x4 so 4 classes in the spring and 4 in the fall)
As a sophomore, I took AP Bio(4) and AP Physics(5) as my science APs
This year my schedule consists of
AP Calc AB
PLTW HBS
AP Environmental
AP Lang
AP Chem
APUSH
Spanish 3
AP Calc BC
I was wondering if I should take HBS even though I know I will go into biomedical sciences, or should I take AP Physics 2 because I did so well in AP Physics 1. (AP 1 was very tough, however). I wanted to keep in mind what prestigious colleges (think Ivy League)would perceive this since a lot of them don’t really recognize (weigh) PLTW or like APs better. My unweighted GPA is also to be kept in mind.
Last year I won a national science competition. I want to do more competitions and research this year. HBS is definitely easier than AP 2 and will give me more time to focus on research and competitions.
(and i need to practice driving with my permit for my license if that might be a factor)
Thanks for any advice
