Should I take SAT Math Level 1 or 2?

My friend got an A in physics honors. It’s surprising to me though how he got a pretty good score nonetheless and he took the class 2 years ago. Anyways I would recommend taking the physics test. Hopefully you just recently had the class, or else… you may have forgotten some things. But ya do your best to study for it. You should do well if you just put some time

You should definetly take lvl 1 or, as many have said, neither. I finished calc bc and got a 790 on lvl 2 :frowning: question for those who have taken physics subject test, what would you expect me to get if I took physics C ap got a 4 and two semester A’s?

Colleges will not look at level 1, because this math is embedded in the SAT reasoning test. The College Board has thought about eliminating this test, since it is a duplication of material from the regular SAT. Students who have complete Trig should take level 2. Precalculus is not on this level 2 test.

For the OP, first think about to which colleges you intend to apply. With a C and F in a course, I am guessing you might not be intending to apply to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford and other high ranked colleges. Once you get out of the high ranks, most colleges do not require SAT subject tests and, in fact, most of those won’t even consider them if sent. If you are looking at various campuses of the University of California, be aware that they do not accept the Math 1. Also, I do not know how much math you have had but also be aware that vast majority of colleges require at least three years of high school math without any F and thus you might need to either retake or take another math course.

False. Colleges will still look at Math level 1.

Will Cal state Long Beach
or Cal state Fullerton
look at math level 1?

I don’t think either of them ‘require’ you to take SAT subjects, it’s merely optional. They’ll look at math level 1 though I’m sure.

Cal States neither require nor consider SAT IIs for admission, for the ones you mention you should be focusing on a good SAT or ACT.

^ yea agreed
