Math has always been my weakest subject; It is the only core subject where I am not on an honors track. As a junior, I am taking Alg 2/ Trigonometry. My school will not allow me to take full fledged calculus next year given my current math courses throughout high school.
So here's my question: Should I take Stats next year as a Senior or Pre-Calculus? I have heard that Stats is the easier course at my school, yet I am considering taking Pre-Calc due to the fact that I may have to take calculus at college (hopefully W&M!

Thoughts?

In my pre-cal class (dual-credit) we basically have just done a review of ALG 1 and 2 plus some. I don’t know how rigorous your class would be or what would be covered, but I would bet that you’d easily be able to do Pre-cal after taking ALG 2. (Everyone I know who has taken a pre-cal class agrees that it’s basically functions, something that should be well ingrained into your mind by now.)

I’d take pre-cal. With your background it’s still something you shouldn’t get behind in.

Hey, maybe even show admissions you’re willing to take that extra step and… take both?

If you’re considering standard-level stats and standard-level pre-calc, go with pre-calc assuming you feel you can be a successful student in that course. If you’re choosing between AP Stats and pre-calc it’s six on one, half a dozen on the other.

As coalminorson said, you can also take both AP Stats and Pre-calc if you’re schedule allows.
