I'm a junior so I dont have my stats yet... but im really worried about the essay section of SAT
also I'm a math/science person

do you think i should take it? how should I start studying?

ps. Im taking ap calc and ap bio and adv chem in school right now
next year im planning to take ap physics and ap chem... i dont know about math though ap calc is the highest course my school offers... any suggestions?

If it's the essay section on the SAT that worries you, you ought to know that many schools require the optional writing portion of the ACT. So, that appealing feature of no essay may go out the window.

The essay on the ACT in my opinion is easier because the prompt is direct. it simply asks you to choose a side (persuasive essay) and you get 5 extra minutes.

Take it without studying at all. That's what I did. I got a a good score in October and figured that it was good enough, then took it later with state testing in April and got a 1 point higher. I would see where you are at, which I'm guessing will be quite good from your classes, and then see what you need to study. Don't bother wasting your time studying at first, you have more important things to worry about.

i agree definitely take it. its more knowledge based and the essay is easier although i havent taken the ACTs this is just wat ive heard from many diff sources. so i say take it!

Ya, take the writing. You're a smart kid, if you write legibly you should be able to get at least an 8, if you actually make sense, a 10 should be no problem.

you can check around your area and through your guidance office to see what they offer; most likely that'll be PSEO, (post-secondary enrollment options) where you can enroll in classes at colleges near you.

your counselor at school will know best, though.

like almost 1/3 of my graduation class at school finishes calc by junior year.
you can either take community college classes( most common)
take classes online like EPGY
or just not bother with math at all.
I took calc BC as a sophomore. I took Stats AP my junior year with this amazing professor who wrote the first AP stats test!! And this year I am taking like calc c and calc d at community college (Calc BC only have like 1/3 of the calculus C (third semester of calc) in college level)

EPGY is like a online thing, just google it.

Stats was like the AP class for seniors not smart enough for AP Calc AB at my school. I was only taking it cuz I couldn't get to anywhere else(no car, and no parent access (lol) till after 9 everyday ...) and didn't want to spend $800+ for online classes. But it end up being okay since the teacher I had was amazing(the other one was a total blow off class... at least people still got 5's), but also super hard: All the caltech, upen, stanford, berk pre frosh got B's in that class. It was that hard, but definitely rewarding.
