Should I take the old SAT?

So last year I got a 1780 on the PSAT without any prior practice or prep. After that, I started to prep more and do the questions of the day. Wednesday is the day for the new PSAT, and while I will be taking that, I’m considering taking the old SAT this winter, then probably taking the new SAT depending on how I do on the old SAT. I’m currently a junior.

Are colleges partial to the new SAT? Should I take the old SAT? I’ll also be seeing how the PSAT feels tomorrow and factoring that in (I’ve done some practice for that). If it’s easy I probably won’t bother taking the old SAT, but it might be nice to take it just in case.

Generally the consensus is take the old and the new so you can see what one you score better on and submit that one, so yes I would take it.

That’s what I assumed. Thanks! @Madeline25

Yes, take the old. I’m also a junior, and we’re the year that has the choice between both. Try out the old SAT, and then if you’re not satisfied with your score or want to improve, do the new one. Though there are three test dates for the old SAT before new one comes out in March!
