I took my SAT in OCT and was pretty okay with my scores except for Math (I was sick when I took the test and had a coughing spasm on the last math section, I got some pretty mean looks from the people next to me). If I take an SAT for the 3rd time will colleges look at with a negative outlook? If my score goes down (like in CR by a little bit) or stays the same will that ruin my chances of getting in? I really think I can improve my math score by a lot (I'm hoping to break 1500) if I a practice a bit more and am healthy on test day. Do you think I should take it again or do you think its too risky? If I don't get a perfect score on CR will colleges think it was just a fluke and I got lucky?
CR: 800
M: 610

your CR is awesome to me. :X I think you should retake if the score increases ,then it can boot your chance

I think you should.

You should.

You definitely should. And don't worry even if you CR score goes down a bit, let's say 20-30 points, it won't matter as long as your math score increases a great deal. Besides most colleges do super-score. Best of luck!

Sorry for posting a new question on this thread but i have a similar question.
Will the colleges overlook my SAT I math score if I score around 780 in Math II?

^Colleges don't overlook things, but it would definitely help. Regarding your first question, the reason colleges only look pay attention to your superscore is that you can't fluke your way into a good score, you can really only botch your way out of one. If you don't study for CR between now and December your score will probably drop, but it won't drop by more than ~50 points. But even if it does, it doesn't matter, because colleges superscore.
