Should I take the SAT before I transfer?

I am currently a freshman at a small university and am looking to transfer. My ACT score was 24 and I don't know if I should take the SAT with subject tests (Physics and Math). Since I know the ACT was supposed to be taken at an important time, I didn't know if I should take that SAT even if I believe I can vastly improve. I have high aspirations. My top choices are Caltech, UChicago, Northwestern, MIT, and UIUC.

So is it worth it to take the SAT next year before I transfer into my junior year? Will it look bad taking it so late?

Any help, guys?

Most colleges don’t require you to submit an SAT/ACT score if you have completed 60 semester credit hours. You should check each college’s transfer requirements though.

The universities I was going to apply to do require them.

Take the SAT, 24 ACT is far too low for any of those schools

I think now would be a good time that you start studying for it because it may become a little challenging to study for your college courses and prepare for the test at the same time, and i have many students who were in your situation and they were all able to improve their scores substantially.
