(Summary in 2nd to last paragraph, you can skip to it, I didn’t realize how much I wrote and the rest of this is just too much context)
I’ve taken the SAT 3 times. I’m applying to one school early November (EA not ED), then a few others regular in dec/jan.
My parents wanted me to take it every time I can, like I’ve taken the last 3 SAT’s and I’m signed up to take October November SAT’s, then with December as a if all else fails.
I have a score near the 75th percentile for the school I’m applying to Early, I have an above average GPA for them, I have better EC’s than some people that I know that got in the year before me. It is the school I want to go to, unless I got into one of my longer shots or I have a breakthrough on my SAT score (1340 right now) and get into a school id be overly thrilled to go to or something. This school will take the November SAT or the October one for EA.
I studied a TON between the (whatever was before August) SAT and the August SAT on math. I on the one before August, I was scoring low 600s on practice tests, 660 on the actual one. Before the August tests, I scored a 760, 780, and 790 on practice tests, then a 670 on the actual one I made 20/20 on nocalc then -7 on calc I choked big time, I messed up 2 graphs completely threw and then circled two answers in my book that I didn’t write on my scantron.
I feel like I did WAY worse on the August SAT in math than I should’ve. BUT between that SAT, and now, I haven’t done legit like 0 studying or reviewing. I’ve had a lot on my plate and wasn’t used to the busy schedule change between now and then, and honestly have slacked off.
I’m worried that, not having reviewed, practiced, or anything, between August 24th and now I will have forgotten some of the math and not be as polished.
Based on this, should I skip the Oct 5 SAT, and crank for the Nov one? Like does it affect if I take it 4 times vs 5 times (4 would be if I skip Oct and then get a nice score in nov). Or is this college to college? If so, should I contact admissions or is there an easy way to find out?
Sorry for telling you my life story
TLDR: I have taken the SAT 3 times already. I studied an unhealthy amount for the August SAT and did way worse than I feel I should’ve. Between the August one and now, I haven’t studied or reviewed AT ALL. Should I skip Oct 5 SAT and take the Nov one, since I can study a ton between now and the November one and I haven’t studied at all recently. or does it not matter how many times I take it? 4 times vs 5 times. If it’s school to school, how should I try and find out?
Forgot to add, the reason I’d take it again Oct 5 just incase I did choke or have a bad day on August SAT and like let’s say I pop off this Saturday
